Unilorin Final Year Student Ingests Sniper Over Project Issues
It was gathered that a Unilorin final year Student ingests sniper over project issues.The Student is said to be in his mid 20s and name has been currently withheld. Report have it that he committed suicide at the weekend over unexpected Academic effects at Oke-Ado community; Student populated area within Ilorin.
The deceased who is said to be from faculty of Agriculture had failed in his final year project during the last session and was asked to repeat the current one.The effect was that he took his life because there was not prospects that he could have a second class upper division grade which he had expected to make in his final year result.He kicked the bucket after gulping a pesticide called Sniper.
It was gathered that the evidence of his action being a suicidal one and the reasons was deduced from a death note which he had left on a social media.The note indicates that he was being accused of ‘copy and paste’ which is a reference to plagiarism in research works.Other evidence were deduced from the records of his social media chats where he uploaded a picture of the Sniper on his WhatsApp page at about 5:14 pm last Thursday; which was few hours after he had complained about his recent status to his friend online.

“same research work, he said I did copy and paste. Ever since den, things changed from bad to worst. Am in a deep mess @the moment. My life don tire me. I feel like dying. I wish I can sleep and not wake up again.”

Latter response from the deceased
“I pray xo, Thanks a lot for ur concern. I appreciate a lot. May God continue to bless you. Amen.”
His friend reacted frankly when he uploaded the picture of a sniper online:
“Abeg, Calm Down. Abeg you in the name of God. Nothing Happen wey God no know about ooo please don’t do anything stupid ooooo.”
It was also gathered that the Director of information for the University, Mr Kunle Akogun, stated that he didn’t know anything about the incident. Similarly,the Police Relations officer (PPRO), of the state command, Ajayi Okasanmi, stated that such incident was not reported to his office but he promised to do something substantial to get hold of the situation.
