JAMB RESULT 2019
It’s been over three weeks now since candidates came out in mass to sit for their JAMB examination. With hopes to get their results in due time, candidates are slowly losing faith and doubting the credibility of the examination body.
JAMB, however, has explained why it has yet to release the result of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
The unusual delay in the release of the JAMB results was because of the biometric verification process of the candidates that participated in the exams carried out by the body.
According to reports, 31 out of the 36 states have already been concluded.
Confirming this in an interview at the country’s capital, JAMB registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said
“We are cross-checking everything, including fingers. If you know that you have about 1.8 candidates multiplied by ten that is the finger we are talking about.
“If you are very close to National Identity Card Management Commission (NIMC), ask them what it takes to analyse finger prints in terms of period.
“We are combining 1.8 million ten fingers with one another to be sure that we identify people who combine fingers and so on. That is where we are now.
“We have done all other and now we have about six states to go. As I speak with you I am at a retreat with those who are doing it. We have about six states to go. We have done 31 states and six states are still not completed now.”
Meanwhile, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB spokesman, told The Sun on Saturday that they are aware of the anxiety and concerns of candidates. He also failed to give a certain period for the release.
He, however, requested that JAMB is doing everything necessary before the release of the result.
Saying that though they released the results pretty much earlier in 2017 and 2018; It was necessary for the board to improve its credibility this time around by carrying out the verification process.
According to him, many candidates had in the past escaped with illegitimate acts they perpetrated during the UTME exercise, but that won’t continue.
He said JAMB would take its time and scrutinize the outcome of the exercise to ensure that tertiary institutions are proud of whatever they get from JAMB.
He added, “We Are gatekeepers but we could compromise the entire security system of the house if we refuse to keep the gate”
“We strictly follow the process so we can get it right. We are less concerned about the time, but (more about) how well and credible (the results become); Neither policy meeting nor admission will start this month. Therefore, the delay will not affect any item on our timetable.”

With that said, JAMB is holding back results for a proper round-up check. Making sure that anyone found to have committed examination malpractice to be dealt with accordingly.
So, this is why you are yet to see your JAMB result.
