For the season we’re about to embrace, the main thing that would be causing a burn in your throat and nostrils would be dust. As the harmattan kicks in, the northern whirlwind would bring lots of dust from the Sahara desert, which makes everywhere dusty and unpleasant.
The harmattan comes with excess cold and poor vision because of the amount of dust in the air. This can easily make you sick with a common cold or cough.

According to research, Honey would relief cough by 60%. To use honey to treat a cough, mix 2 teaspoons (tsp) with warm water or an herbal tea. Drink this mixture once or twice a day. Do not give honey to children that are 1 year of age.

To use Palm Oil in relieving your common cold, wash hands, pour palm oil in a plate, and dip index finger to oil. Gently place oil filled index finger into nostrils and swerve around nostrils.
The palm oil has some properties which when inhaled can bring relief to the common cold.
This spice can be used to bring relief to dry or asthmatic cough due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

This common fruit is rich in Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme that comes from pineapples but not sugarcane. It is most plentiful at the bottom of the fruit.
Pineapples and sugarcane can help in soothing common cold, they both have anti-inflammatory properties that brings great relief for the common cold.
Staying Hydrated is very essential for anyone with a cough or cold. Many people ignore the importance of drinking water. Research indicates that drinking liquids at room temperature can alleviate a cough, runny nose, and sneezing.
If the symptoms are heavy, you can consider warming the fluid.

If you have a mild wet cough, A wet cough can be easily noticed because they are filled with lots of phlegm and mucus.
