We shall be looking at: “Everyday Makeup Skills: How to Draw the Perfect Winged Eyeliner”.
Last week, we discussed about How to Draw the Brows. You did not see it, well you can click here to read it. Today, we shall be looking at the Winged Eyeliner. The Winged Eyeliner gives this sort of fierce look, and elegance to the makeup. It serves as an alluring captivator, only when done right. It may be a little tricky for starters, but with constant practice, you would master how to draw the perfect winged eyeliner.
These are steps on how to draw the perfect winged eyeliner.
Coat the Eyelid with Concealer or eyeshadow primer.
Before you apply any eyeliner or eyeshadow to the eyes, it is highly advisable to coat the eyelids with a primer or concealer first to enable the liner or eyeshadow to stay or last long on the eyelids, without any smudges. It would also create a smoother and even-looking base for the eyeliner. All you have to do is apply the primer or concelaer and blend evenly.
Apply the eyeliner on the upper lash line.
Just as the line in the above picture shows, that is how you use an eyeliner to draw a line to the upper lash. It is advisable to use a thin mouth eyeliner, so its smooth and straight. When drawing on the upper lash, you have to flatten the eyelids a little bit by using your finger to spread it out, as seen in the picture. You can draw on the line you have already drawn over again, just to make the liner on the upper lash thick.
Measure how long you want the wing to be.
Your wing is supposed to look like a diagonal line, measuring from your nose to the tip of your eyelids, just as the picture shows. This is not an actual measurement, guys, it is more or less like a mental measurement. just so that you know how long you want the wing to be and how to go about drawing it.
Draw a diagonal line to serve as the wing.
After you have a mental measurement of how long you want the wing to be, you then draw the diagonal line from the tip of your upper lash to your desired end point. Make sure it is straight, sort of 45 degrees perfect. You have to use a mirror to do this, most definitely, and your eyelids still need to be flattened. You also need to make a straight line from the middle of the eyelid to the end of the wing to get the 45 degrees, as shown in the picture below.
Fill in the outline with the eyeliner.
This is just basically filling the skin in between the diagonal line and the straight line on the eyelid with eyeliner so the eyeliner is perfectly winged.
Thicken the eyeliner at the upperlid.
This is basically just running through the upper lid with the eyeliner. After this, you can decide to add mascara to give your eyes a full effect. This is what your eyes should look like when you are done.
