And as your favorite Student Magazine, we are here to give you all the gist.
So, Lagos State University ( LASU) is currently battling a very controversial matter involving the school’s Vice Chancellor and one of the University’s renowned lecturers, Prof. Okebukola in age falsification scandal.
According to a report published by Premium times, the management of the school lied about Prof. Okebukola’s age falsification scandal.
Lasu’s Prof Okebukola was a former executive secretary of the National University Commission, who was reported to have used three different birth dates at different times during his 35-year academic career. At various times, he was reported to have given his birth dates as February 17, 1948, February 17, 1949, and February 17, 1951.
Here’s where the University Vice-Chancellor was involved
Documents obtained implicated the university’s vice chancellor, Olanrewaju Fagbohun, a protégé of Mr. Okebukola, in the age falsification scandal. It was further gathered that the school’s VC withheld the personal file of Mr. Okebukola, which prevented the university’s Academic Staff Establishment division from taking steps that would have ensured that the former NUC boss was retired in 2016.
