Bowen University Lays Off Over 100 Staff.

Bowen University has joined the increasing growing list of organizations laying off some staff; in order to survive the negative economic effects of the covid-19 pandemic.

The private school, located in Osun State; has reportedly sacked over 100 workers on Tuesday, June 23.

Letters indicating termination of appointments; were further sent through emails to the affected persons on Tuesday evening.

This, however, did not sit well with some staff, as some are even threatening to protest the action.

Additionally, one of the workers accused the school of being wicked and insensitive; stating that the vice chancellor of the institution; Prof Joshua Ogunwole; recently bought a vehicle worth over N42 million despite the economic situation.

Is Bowen University being insensitive or is this a necessary move? What do you think?
