ASUU STRIKE UPDATE
“We Are Ready to meet with Federal Government” —- ASUU
ASSU STRIKE UPDATE
The Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) has announced that they are ready for a sit meet with the federal government.
The union which went on a one-week old indefinite strike over federal Government lapses in meeting up its signed agreement.
The president of the Union, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi who starred on a Morning TV shoe disclosed that the union is ready to meet the federal government for a dialogue.
According to him, they had sent out letters to the federal government through the ministry of education and labour congress but no reply from the government.
Here’s Our Opinion
The Nigerian Government which earlier allocated only 7% budget to the Education sector
The government however increased it to 15% and now it won’t answer to the distress call of ASUU.
Most Of the top government officials have their children studying abroad, which is very hypocritical and alarming.
We therefore pray that The Nigerian Government should earnestly reach an agreement with ASUU for the sake of Nigerian students.
