ASUU STRIKE UPDATE
The latest meeting between ASUU and FG, held yesterday evening (10th Dec, 2018) ended with no resolution.
The Federal Government, once again, promised that they are “taking all necessary steps” to ensure that ASUU demands are met.
ASUU Indicated a wait for the next meeting on 17th Dec, 2018 to decide the continuity of the strike.

The meeting, presided by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education were both absent.
In attendance for ASUU were the ASUU National President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi. And the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba and others.
The address given by the ASUU President Holds that the Union is willing to wait until after the meeting on 17th Dec.
That will definitely determine how serious the Federal Government is in implementing certain agreements filed by ASUU.
The current ASUU strike is to protest the poor funding of Nigerian Universities.
ASUU is on strike to plot an increase in students’ fees, introduction of an education bank, and as well as non-implementation of previous agreements, among other issues.
ASUU Strike continues until 17th Dec.
