ASUU STRIKE UPDATE DAY 33
The Federal Government is set to meet with the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) today. This meeting will bring the discussion of ending the strike.
The meeting is scheduled to hold by 4pm, today Monday. The meeting was announced by the minister of labour and employment, Sir Chris Ngige.
Recall that the ASUU strike kicked of earlier in November and has lasted for a month and 3 days.
The minister condemned a statement by renowned lawyer Femi Falana who spoke against the enforcement of ‘No work, No pay’ by Federal Government
So the meeting will be held today and the outcome made public later.
The Minister also said that the law of “no work no pay” is ideal everywhere in the world.
ASUU & FG Meeting
The two parties have had several meetings in the past and all ended in a deadlock.
We are earnestly hoping that the meeting being held today would end in a reasonable outcome.
So what do you think about this development. Do you think that the meeting would end in a reasonable outcome?
Also, what do you think about this new development, How have you been going through the ASUU Strike.
This is not the first time this year ASUU is going on a strike action for the same reason. It was in 2007 that ASUU and the federal Government reached a consensus and signed a memorandum.
