ARE WE STILL SLAVES?

Kanye west who recently got trolled on the internet over his tweet about the American president Donald Trump is currently making headlines left and right over his comment on the controversial topic “Slavery”.
Quoting his exact words during an interview at the TMZ headquarters he said,

When you hear about Slavery for 400 years…….
for 400 years? that sounds like a choice.

He also went on to add…

“you were there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all. it’s like we’re mentally imprisoned.

The rapper who was hospitalized recently due to mental breakdown is known to make Controversial statement like this is a second nature.

Seeing as he is making headlines left and right, he quickly went on to debunk his previous statement and his words were:
To make myself clear, of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on the boat by freewill. My point is for us to have stayed in that position even do the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved”

” Does he really have a point?”

Well, a philosopher once said:
“Whether you think you can or you can’t you are right”
it’s all a matter of choice.

Kanye may not have chosen the right words to convey his thoughts to the public but he might have a point.

400 years is not a short period of time and with the ever increasing population of slaves, numbers were indeed on our side.

Which left me wondering:

“Did we lose the passion and drive to fight for our freedom?”

or maybe we simply resigned to fate.

I wouldn’t know.
However, Kanye went on to make it about himself. That’s so typical of him. He said,
The reason why I brought up the 400years point is because we can’t be mentally imprisoned for another 400years. We need free thought now. Even the statement was an example of free thought. It was just an idea. Once again, I am being attacked for presenting new ideas”.
But did he really present a new idea?
