It is the season of love, and everyone is planning that special gift or gifts for their special someone. That’s what Valentine’s Day is all about.
Well, some people are having it tougher than others.
You will understand when you read this mail I got few days ago:
Dear Agony Aunt,
Valentine is almost here, and you know how these girls are. I love my girlfriend, no doubt. I love her very much. But sometimes she can be too demanding.
On Monday, she gave me her Valentine’s Day list; list of things she wants.
Can you imagine number one is iPhone 11? I’m not even using an iPhone o.
Okay leave that one, she also wants Brazilian hair; only God knows how much that will cost.
We just started dating last year May, so this is our first valentine together.
How much is my salary? What do I do?
Sounds very funny, but it is a serious dilemma for a lot of people.
Here’s how I responded:
There is no other thing to tell you than this:
Buy what you can afford. Do not strain your expenses because of a single day.
Most importantly, communicate your worries to her. If she truly loves you, she’ll understand that maybe, just maybe, her demands are a tad much.
Valentine’s Day is a day to show that special someone how much you love and appreciate them. And that’s not by expensive gifts alone.
